CAR Mexico Forest Projects (CMFP) are basically improved forest management projects. They may be run by communities or ejidos. Ejidos are a special type of rural community on communally owned lands managed for agriculture and/or forestry. Activities implemented by the projects can range from reducing harvest to implementing silvicultural practices such as thinning or selective cutting. They may also include other management activities, such as fire prevention, pest control, and disease prevention.
