Improved cookstove projects are valued for their for their combined emission reductions and contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. They are also the fastest-growing project type in the voluntary carbon market. In this paper, we review lessons learned during the process of rating over 100 Improved Cookstove projects and provide recommendations to stakeholders for improving quality outcomes.
